Vacations And Dream Homes:

Earlier this year Mid Day reported a unique package offered by Bangalore-based firm, Les Concierges. This company includes “honeymoon packages” for newly-married employees as part of its employee benefit packages. Employees can also go on vacations in the Far East and indulge in adventure sports as part of customized perks.

The Managing Director of Les Concierges maintained such strategies make employees feel special and work harder to achieve the organization’s goals.

While companies in the U.S. are dropping luxury transportation that used to come gratis for top executives, Indian employees are increasingly being treated to exciting on-job perks like gymnasiums, massage centers, family days and even picnics to holiday hot-spots.

Employees are certainly not complaining and are embracing such exciting incentives whole-heartedly. The over-riding concern of Mumbai employees is however free accommodation provided by the company, preferably in areas like Andheri, Bandra and the suburbs where most of the offices are located.

A lot of the workforce available in India pours in from other states like Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh and Punjab. With residential areas in Mumbai going at a premium and housing societies dictating complex rules and requirements, the Mumbaikar wants a place to stay more than a free vacation or car.

Employee benefits are no longer added incentives. They have taken on the form of a necessity to ensure employee retention and generate higher outputs.
